About School Guard, the Premier Bring Your Own Device Program

Free BYOD Program for Schools!

Kajeet School Guard™ is the only program from a national wireless carrier to facilitate cooperation between schools and parents to ensure student devices are used appropriately during school hours. Schools across the country are rapidly adopting the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model to leverage the smart devices kids love in the classroom. As we see news stories about inappropriate use of these devices, schools are challenged with how to set policies and manage student access via their own mobile broadband data capabilities.

Kajeet School Guard™ is a FREE program for schools and a FREE service for parents (who can opt-in at any time)!

Manage device usage in school

School Guard™ allows the school to manage student mobile broadband use by:

  • Setting up as many Internet access policies as desired. A school may set one policy for data use by younger children, who do not require as much access, and a separate policy for older children, who rely more on the Internet for research and investigation.

  • Identifying the school hours for each policy. Schools can designate how early their policies wiil begin (on the bus ride?) and what time of the day will end.

  • Defining what types of content are acceptable. On an as-needed basis, a school can allow access to sites like YouTube or block them so non-educational content cannot be accessed during class.

  • Determining what protocols are allowed. Decide whether or not features like file sharing, email or streaming video will be available during school hours.

  • Creating white lists or black lists for specific sites to be allowed or blocked. Customize School Guard™ so it fits the specific needs of your institution down to the grade or classroom level.

  • Choosing from default policies for elementary, middle or high schools or creating your own! Use the policies developed by kajeet to get started or design ones that are specific to your school's needs.

Enrollment is fast, easy and FREE!
