Many community colleges have hybrid programs using digital instruction for adult and continuing education focused on workforce readiness, retraining and development. CCDC is providing students in their program with mobile broadband access to the specific resources associated with their program via Kajeet's Sentinel™ platform. This allows "bridging the digital divide" in a very cost-effective manner with MiFi wireless hotspots whose costs are directly limited to and scaled with access to the programs learning resources. This is the beginning of a "sponsored service" model of access subsidy where resource providers can bundle access with their digital resources for learners. Find out more about CCDC here .

With a long list of partners and at two of the largest K-12 districts, this project is a 1:1 deployment of Android™ tablets in the 5th and 8th grades examining everything from parent/student/teacher attitudes, learning outcomes, new teaching practices, digital safety and security, low-income family impact and more. A unique new mobile application, Digital Passport, was created by Common Sense Media and Copper Mobile to provide a series of games to teach subjects such as online identity management, cyberbullying, digital rights and intellectual property, as well as other topics.

This is an augmented reality project using smartphones outdoors for ecosystem sciences. In its second year, the project has shown some impressive results already. Click here for more information.
