CBS’s Eye on Parenting Features kajeet

CBS’s Eye on Parenting recently addressed the topic of age-appropriate technology – how much is too much and at what age different devices should be given to kids. Parenting expert Shannon Eis shared her thoughts with CNET’s Natali Morris on why kajeet was a good choice for those thinking about cell phones.

“What I consider this is a cell phone with guard rails,” Shannon said about kajeet. “It’s really important. Adding a phone to your plan can have a lot of challenges for a parent because it’s unbridled access to the web, to everything. And for a younger child, and we’re really starting to look at 7 and 8 year olds having cell phones, you want to make sure the guard rails are in place.”

Kajeet’s parental controls, specifically the ability to limit what phone numbers can call in and out, and the GPS tracking functionality were also mentioned as benefits of the service.
