kajeet Introduces Dudemail

“Spread the dudeness, yo!”

So says kajeet (the new pay-as-you-go cell phone and wireless service made from a kid’s point of view) that’s offering tweens, teens and other Web users a fun way to express themselves through personalized e-mails.

It all happens via Dudemail, launched last week by kajeet. It’s a free, customizable messaging feature that lets anyone with a computer send Dudemail to anyone with an e-mail account. Dudemail can be used to wish someone a happy birthday, send congratulations or just call someone a “dude.” Already, Dudemail has received a popular Cool Site of the Day ranking.

“kajeet Dudemail is pure fun, and it’s a playful way for anyone who wants to share a smile during the day by way of a quick e-mail,” said Daniel Neal, kajeet Founder and CEO.  “We know that kids, in particular, are eager to express themselves with their friends. Dudemail was created to offer them a way to communicate with personalized style.”

kajeet Dudemail is aptly named:  it features the kajeet Dudes, six animated characters each of whom represents a universal personality type to which all kids can relate. The small, rounded, brightly colored Dudes embody classic kid personalities and archetypes: Obie the jock, Zeo the rocker, Kane the DJ, Skratch the skater, Tallulah the girly-girl and Lottie the social activist.

Developed to help socially-emerging tweens express themselves in their world and in their first social networks, the kajeet Dudes are present throughout the kajeet experience: on the kajeet Web site at Dudeworld (dudes.kajeet.com), an animated online environment where kids can download ringtones and wallpapers, play games and more; throughout the marketing campaign; at the live brand experience, Dudeworld LIVE, on a multi-city tour this summer; and on the mobile devices themselves via wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones.

Once online at dudemail.kajeet.com, users can customize their Dudemail by choosing one of the Dudes, along with an array of accessories, headgear, backgrounds, and pre-recorded Dude voices – - resulting in nearly a quarter-million possible combinations! Kids can create a message by selecting from 10 pre-recorded messages, including those themed “Happy Birthday,” “Chicken Butt,” and “I’m Bored,” or by creating their own personalized message via text-to-speech technology with 14 different voice options.   Dudemail, which was conceived by Swivel Media (and is powered by Oddcast), can be sent by email to anyone, anywhere, anytime!

The kajeet service and phones are available nationwide in Best Buy, Limited Too, and Longs Drugs stores. kajeet can also be purchased on the Web at www.kajeet.com.
