Detailed Descriptions of Billing Line Items:

Service: This includes your monthly subscription for Kajeet’s cell phone service, wallet refills, and a transaction charge to help Kajeet defray a wide range of administrative and other fees it must pay as a regulated wireless operator.

Sales Tax: States, counties, cities, towns, and special taxing districts may assess sales taxes on wireless communication services and/or the sales of wireless phones. Applicable taxes are collected by Kajeet and remitted to the jurisdiction that is assessing the tax.

E911 Fee: Some states and localities require wireless carriers to collect a fee to fund 911 services. These fees vary by state and locality. Applicable fees are collected by Kajeet and remitted to the jurisdiction that is assessing the fee.  Depending on your address of record, the fee is either a flat rate or a percentage of your transaction, and is subject to change at any time.

Regulatory Fees and Surcharges:  Some states, counties, and cities impose gross receipts taxes, excise taxes, and other fees and surcharges on telecommunications providers.  The number and type of surcharges depend upon the location of the transaction or the address of record.  These charges are not taxes and are not an amount we are required to collect from you by law.  If Kajeet collects such fees and surcharges, it remits them to the appropriate jurisdiction.
