Connected Conversations: Michael Domino, Procurement Specialist

Last Updated: August 17, 2026 08:17 PM

Welcome to Connected Conversations, our new spotlight series highlighting the faces, stories, and personalities behind Kajeet.

Michael Domino is a Procurement Specialist for Customer Operations at our logistics center in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Rockford, Illinois, he moved to AZ two years ago. These days, he usually tells people he's from Chicago since Rockford isn't always a familiar reference point, and the cities are close enough!

He's still getting used to the Arizona heat - and that can be an adjustment for someone who loves spending time outdoors. In his free time, Michael enjoys working out, hiking, biking, and running - or what he jokingly describes as more of a slow walk. Staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are important to him. He also has a cat named Ben, who he describes as "pretty cool."

Michael has spent about 15 years working in operations, but joining Kajeet introduced him to an entirely new world: IoT. The experience has been a great one so far, giving him the opportunity to meet and work with people across the industry while gaining a deeper appreciation for the work Kajeet does. Most importantly, he's developed a greater understanding of the impact Kajeet has on the people and organizations it serves.

To learn more about Michael's background and favorite hobbies, we sat down with him for a quick Q&A!

Q: What's one skill you've developed since joining Kajeet?

A: A necessary skill I’ve learned at Kajeet is to always think a few steps ahead. I try to anticipate what’s coming next in each process instead of waiting for the next step to land on my desk. Whether it’s making sure we have the right products and devices available or catching potential roadblocks before they become actual problems, staying ahead helps keep everything moving smoothly for our customers.

Q: What's your favorite way to spend a Friday?

A: My ideal Friday night is honestly pretty simple - get off work, go grocery shopping for the following week, come home and eat dinner, hit the gym, and then curl up on the couch with my cat for a movie. Always something in the horror genre so we can scream at all the scary parts.

Here is a picture of Ben (my cat) watching a movie in bed with me. (I am on the other side of the camera, I swear.)

Q: What's something you've always wanted to learn?

A: I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano. I actually have a few keyboards sitting in my Amazon cart right now but just have not committed to buying them. One day, one can hope I will learn.

Q: How does your role help customers succeed?

A: My role helps our customers by having the right equipment at the right times. This helps us stay ahead of our SLAs and provide our customers with the best possible customer experience.

Q: What's one food you'll never say no to?

A: Wow, what a question. To be honest, I have the blandest palate in the world when it comes to food. I eat mostly the same things every day. So I guess, chicken? *Laughs awkwardly*

Q: Who has had the biggest influence on your life?

A: I wouldn’t say one person in general has influenced me more than a group of individuals has. I really try to get involved in the community and help where I can, which mainly means volunteering at local shelters. It opens my eyes and makes me realize what life is like for others. You never truly understand what others are going through until you see it firsthand. The people I’ve met through volunteering have inspired me and influenced me to be better in my own life.
