What is the Kajeet SmartSpot®?

The Kajeet SmartSpot® is a portable Wi-Fi hotspot designed to provide students with safe, reliable internet access anywhere learning happens. Each SmartSpot connects to a secure, filtered network to ensure CIPA compliance and protect students online.

Who should use the SmartSpot®?

Kajeet SmartSpot® is built for students and library patrons who lack reliable home internet  and for the districts and libraries committed to reaching them. It’s the right fit for homework programs, remote learning initiatives, library lending programs, and anywhere students need to be connected outside school walls.

How does the SmartSpot® work?

The SmartSpot® connects to major wireless carrier networks to deliver high-speed internet. Each device is preconfigured for your school or district, ready to use right out of the box—no IT setup required.

Is the SmartSpot® CIPA compliant?

Every Kajeet SmartSpot® includes integrated, cloud-based filtering to ensure compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). That means students stay protected from inappropriate content no matter where they connect.

Which carriers does Kajeet support?
Kajeet partners with all major U.S. wireless carriers, ensuring the best coverage for their region. This flexibility ensures students have a strong and reliable signal wherever they live or travel.
What happens if a device is lost or stolen?

If a SmartSpot® is lost or stolen, administrators can disable or locate the device instantly through the Sentinel® platform, preventing unauthorized use and keeping student data secure.

Does the SmartSpot® qualify for E-Rate or ESSER funding?

The Kajeet SmartSpot® is eligible under several federal and state funding programs, such as ESSER and Title funds for student connectivity initiatives. Due to recent changes,  mobile hotspots are no longer E-Rate eligible.

How long does the battery last?

The SmartSpot® battery typically lasts 8–12 hours on a full charge, depending on usage and network conditions—perfect for a full day of learning or travel.
