E-Rate Update
Recent changes to the E-Rate program have made it increasingly difficult to fund off-campus solutions—like mobile hotspots and school bus Wi-Fi—putting critical student connectivity programs at risk.
Our mission to close the digital divide hasn’t changed. We remain fully committed to supporting our education partners through these challenges and will honor all pricing we previously quoted you.
The technical staff and my staff worked very well together. It was a matter of maybe a day getting it up and running, and we haven’t had one call or one issue yet.
Anthony Thomas, Director of Technology
Merced Union High School District
We still offer the same types of support we gave them [students] during distance learning so that every one of our students can access their curriculum, homework, and additional support in the evenings. We are super grateful to Kajeet for this partnership.
Zandra Jo Galván, Superintendent
Greenfield Union High School District
If I've got a question about what a particular device is accessing, that's very easy to get. And I can see trends - what are the kids accessing? What are they being denied, and is it something we need to consider letting them access?
Teri Ross, Director of Information Systems
Conroe Independent School District
The Kajeet SmartSpot® is a portable Wi-Fi hotspot designed to provide students with safe, reliable internet access anywhere learning happens. Each SmartSpot connects to a secure, filtered network to ensure CIPA compliance and protect students online.
The SmartSpot® is designed for students, teachers, library patrons, and staff who need secure connectivity outside the classroom. It’s an ideal solution for homework access, remote learning, field trips, and community programs.
The SmartSpot® connects to major wireless carrier networks to deliver high-speed internet. Each device is preconfigured for your school or district, ready to use right out of the box—no IT setup required.
Every Kajeet SmartSpot® includes integrated, cloud-based filtering to ensure compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). That means students stay protected from inappropriate content no matter where they connect.
If a SmartSpot® is lost or stolen, administrators can disable or locate the device instantly through the Sentinel® platform, preventing unauthorized use and keeping student data secure.
The Kajeet SmartSpot® is eligible under several federal and state funding programs, such as ESSER and Title funds for student connectivity initiatives. Due to recent changes, mobile hotspots are no longer E-Rate eligible.
The SmartSpot® battery typically lasts 8–12 hours on a full charge, depending on usage and network conditions—perfect for a full day of learning or travel.
Getting started is easy. Contact Kajeet for a custom quote or demo, and our team will help you design a connectivity solution that fits your district’s unique needs and budget.
