Kajeet® Strengthens Student Access™ Solution, Combining Kajeet SmartSpot® Devices with Rugged, Built-for-Education, Chromebooks

MCLEAN, Virginia—February 27, 2019—Kajeet®, the industry leader for safe, affordable K-12 mobile solutions, announces the expansion of its student mobility solutions with the new Kajeet Chromebook Bundle. The Kajeet Chromebook Bundle combines 4G LTE Internet connectivity via the Kajeet SmartSpot® with the rugged, made-for-education CTL Chromebook NL7.

Since 2011, Kajeet has provided Education Broadband™ to connect students outside the classroom with CIPA-compliant, filtered Internet. This solution, rebranded as Kajeet Student Access™, has expanded to combine the trusted Kajeet SmartSpot with Chromebooks to provide students the tools they need to access today’s online curriculum.

The Kajeet Chromebook Bundle is more than just a Chromebook. It includes:

  • The rugged CTL Chromebook NL7—built specifically for K-12 students.
  • 4G LTE Internet connectivity with the trusted Kajeet SmartSpot device.
  • Data for an entire school year on any combination of six North American wireless carriers.
  • Data and SmartSpot management and reporting via the Kajeet Sentinel® cloud platform.
  • All-in-one Chromebook case designed specifically to hold both the Kajeet SmartSpot and CTL Chromebook.
  • The powerful Kajeet Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution embedded on the Chromebook.

“Kajeet started its education business to safely connect students to the digital world – and that has not changed with the introduction of our newest solution, the Kajeet Chromebook Bundle,” said Kajeet CEO and Founder, Daniel Neal. “This bundle connects students to their education, both inside and outside of the classroom, by providing a Chromebook made to withstand daily student use with our trusted SmartSpot so those same students can access their digital curriculum safely, from anywhere.”

The CTL Chromebook NL7 is made for the rigors of the education environment, aligning with Kajeet standards for students. This device, with a 11.6-inch LCD display, has been drop tested from 70 cm to ensure the unit is protected from standard drop heights. The average IT Director expects around 10 percent of damage to their Chromebooks (one in 10), but with the CTL Chromebook, that percentage is lower, around five percent (one in 20). It weighs only 2.5 pounds and has a retractable handle to help students safely, and easily, carry the device between classes. Additionally, with 12-hours of battery life, this Chromebook will last the student an entire school day and beyond. The Chromebook includes: seamless integration with the Google G Suite for Education, the Intel® Apollo Lake N3350 Processor, and 4GB of RAM, all to deliver fast, smooth performance to provide more time for student learning.

This Kajeet Chromebook Bundle, part of the Student Access solution, is powered by Kajeet Sentinel. The Kajeet cloud connectivity platform provides secure, filtered, and managed data access on multiple LTE wireless networks to optimize bandwidth and reduce cost by allowing only educational access to the Internet. This innovative cloud platform includes real-time usage reporting across multiple networks and an analytics dashboard to visualize how data is consumed by students.
